LOCATION [ street map ]
Lined by historic sandstone buildings interspersed with stunning modern residential blocks, the River Clyde is a successful blend of the old and the new. The apartment is just two minutes from the city centre shops, while there is a huge choice of restaurants, pavement cafes, bars, clubs, museums and art galleries within easy walking distance.
Vantage City Apartments are ideally situated for exploring the city centre. Step out of the front door and wander in either direction along the river walk and you'll find plenty of interest. Just a short walk in one direction is Glasgow Green and the People's Palace, while you can stroll to the SECC in the other direction.

Even closer are the St Enoch shopping centre and Buchanan Street, both full of great shops. Head up Buchanan Street and turn left to the Merchant City - full of impressive old buildings, top class designer shops and lively restaurants and bars. St Enoch subway station is just two minutes from the flat, for quick and easy transport to other parts of Glasgow. Take a trip to Hillhead and experience the cosmopolitan, Bohemian West End - Byres Road, Ashton Lane and the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery are highly recommended. Much of the West End is a conservation area, so the architecture is worth a look too - lots of grand old sandstone houses and tenements, plus the Gothic-inspired Glasgow University. |

If you want to see the heart of Glasgow from the water, take a trip to Braehead on the Pride o' the Clyde water bus, which boards just opposite the apartment building. There is a large shopping centre at Braehead, plus the recently opened Xscape complex which includes a snow slope, rock climbing wall and Skypark, an aerial adventure course. There's also a bowling alley and cinema - and yet more shops. The Clydebuilt Maritime Museum is also at Braehead. |
