ACCOMMODATION
Castle Chambers is one of Glasgow's many impressive Victorian buildings, built during the Industrial Revolution, a time when the city was renowned as one of the richest and finest in Europe. While the outside has been preserved, complete with classical-style sculptures, inside it has been tastefully converted into stylish modern apartments.

The apartment is on the fourth floor, with secure entry and a lift. There is a concierge on duty in the building, located in an office on the first floor. The high ceilings and huge windows make the apartment bright and airy, while it is located at the rear of the building away from traffic noise. It sleeps 4 people in two double bedrooms, with an additional adult or two children on the sofa bed.

Opening off the central hallway are the main living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The open-plan main room incorporates a lounge/dining area and a fully-fitted kitchen with quality appliances.

There is secure access and a lift, and the apartment has electric central heating.

The lounge has a leather sofa and another which converts into a bed sleeping a single person, or two children. There is a digital TV and DVD/CD player with a selection of DVDs and CDs.

Wireless broadband internet access is provided for your laptop.

The fitted kitchen has an electric oven and hob located in a stylish island unit. There is a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer. The large glass dining table seats up to 6 people.

It is well-equipped with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and everything else you will need.

In addition, the apartment has all the essentials, including an iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials.

The spacious master bedroom has a double bed and plenty of storage for your personal belongings.
There is a corner desk unit and chair in this room, making the apartment an ideal base for the travelling business person.
There is a fully-tiled en suite shower room off the master bedroom.

The second bedroom has a double bed, built-in wardrobe and tallboy.
The tiled bathroom has a bath, wash basin and toilet. There is a heated towel rail and shaver point and constant hot water.
One adult or two children can be accommodated on the sofa bed in the lounge, by arrangement.

ELECTRICITY
All electricity costs are included in the rental.

LINEN
All bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided free of charge. Bed linen for the sofa bed will be provided by arrangement.

INTERNET ACCESS
The apartment has free wireless broadband access for guests with wireless enabled laptops.

WHAT IS PROVIDED IN THE APARTMENT?
You will find supplies of the following: Coffee, tea bags, sugar, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar, dishwasher tablets and other cleaning fluids; toilet rolls, kitchen paper and bin liners; soap, shower gel, shampoo; bed linen, towels, tea towels, oven glove.

LOCATION

Castle Chambers is ideally situated for exploring the city centre with many shops, restaurants, bars, theatres and other attractions within walking distance. It is less than five minutes walk from both Sauchiehall Street and Buchanan Street, Glasgow's two main shopping streets, and there is a wide choice of restaurants and bars just a few metres from the door.

The massive 18 Screen Cineworld - in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's tallest cinema - is just a couple of minutes walk away, while theatres and other tourist attractions are within easy walking distance.

The Lighthouse Centre for Architecture, Design and the City, including the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Tower with stunning views over the city is 5 minutes walk from the apartment.

Central Station, Queen Street Station and Buchanan Street subway and bus stations are all no more than five minutes from the flat. There are public car parks nearby and metered aparking is available outside the apartment, although it can be difficult to find a space at busy times of day. Meters are free between 6pm and 8am and all day on Sunday.

Glasgow's Central Station is just five minutes walk away, and there are plenty of buses and taxis to take you to all parts of the city and further afield.

The subway system rings central Glasgow, allowing quick and easy access round the city. A trip to Hillhead Station is highly recommended - from here you can experience the cosmopolitan, Bohemian West End - Byres Road, Ashton Lane and the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery are highly recommended. Much of the West End is a conservation area, so the architecture is worth a look too - lots of grand old sandstone houses and tenements, plus the Gothic-inspired Glasgow University.

  • Nearest traditional pub, The Maltman, at street level below Castle Chambers.
